Prep Guide: Newborn Sessions
Wow! Congratulations on the newest member of your family! You have booked your package, and you can't wait to show them off to the world! Whether it's your first or your 5th child, the uncertainty is real, and you might feel like you have no idea what you are doing! Well I am here to help you with that, atleast for the newborn photoshoot part.

What to expect
2 Hr photoshoot - While we likely won't be shooting the entire 2 hours, we will be trying to feed, change, soothe or settle baby. So please plan your day accordngly, and leave a buffer in case we go over.
Siblings, older children can get very restless if having to stay the entire two hours. Please arrange for them to arrive at the studio during the last half hr of the shoot if possible. It will be hard for them, and hot (I keep studio warm to comfort the baby) and often, the noise will disturb the baby as we try to get them to sleep.
If alternate care isn't possible, please ensure they have everytihng they need to be entertained comfortably, i.e fully charged devices, books, etc.
Things to bring for Baby
Baby's only real need is comfort - so anything to help them soothe -
Pacifier (if using)
Bottle with expressed milk / formula (if using)
Mom at the ready to feed, if breastfed.
Spare clothes to go home with
Diapers, wipes, vaseline, changing pad etc.
Things to pack for parents - Yes, you need stuff too!
Clothes - Parents sometimes get spat or peed on, so spare clothes for parents is nice - so when it's time for your part, you look sharp!
snacks - it can be a LOOOONGG time to wait! While I have recliners in studio, sometimes you may need a snack.
What not to do:
Extended family - Ideally, if extended family or siblings of the newborn are attending, they would join during the latter half of the shoot. this way, they aren't exhausted.
Please no photographing on your phone - I assure you, you will enjoy my photos!
